The Guernsey Saffery Walk 2024 - and our fastest ladies!
9th June 2024Now that the dust has settled! the results of the Saffery Walk are in…
Offshore Electronics has raised a record-breaking amount for the 21 charities who are benefiting from the 2024 event. Generosity from colleagues, suppliers, family and friends resulted in over £1650.00 of donations and is the most we have ever raised for one single event – thank you all so much for your support.
The real appreciation must go to those walkers who took part, including our relay team;Daniel Attewell, Dominic O'Brien, Gemma Le Maitre, Sue Ballard, Julie Welch and Kaci Pratt who completed the 39-mile course in 11 hours and 30 minutes, and the stars of the show,Danni Williams and Layla-Marie Bruce.
Danni and Layla-Marie went above and beyond in their efforts this year, after hours of training, they managed to run the course in a record time of 8 hours and 6 minutes! (around 2 and a half hours quicker than last year’s attempt) Not only was this a personal best, their toughest challenge yet but they were also the first ladies to cross the finish line! By holding hands in a sprint to the finish they finished in joint 4th place overall, simply remarkable.
Well done ladies and to the Relay Team for your efforts -Offshore Electronics are very proud of you!
As always we would like to thank the officials, the supporting businesses who supplied food and drinks around the island and the Saffery organisers, it is so well organised. Offshore Electronics will see you bright and early at the start line next year, but for now 2024 will certainly be hard to beat.
